When debian stable goes from trixie to forky on the FLX1s, how is that upgrade handled? will it be over the air in the software application on the updates tab, or will I need to use a series of terminal commands to basically reflash the phone (and lose all data, apps, app settings, etc.)?
@goodstuff9 we control all the apt configurations, on suite changes an update will be pushed to apt configurations over apt itself to update the suite and updates will begin from there
My understanding is that the FLX1s is currently running Forky. Your can confirm this by looking at /etc/apt/sources.list.d/furilabs.sources.
The way Debian handles upgrades between versions is to change the Suites name, then do an apt update && apt full-upgrade. You can do this from the terminal, which I prefer, or you can do it using the normal updating process.
I assume that at some point a couple of years down the road, that Furilabs will change the sources to refer to the next Debian version then push out the update. The only difference you will likely see is that the update takes (a lot) longer than normal.
