Problems with FLX1s Screen protector and case?

Minor nits but wondering if was just me...

I got the kit and applied the screen protector according to directions and right away while everything was new and clean. I have some small bubbles still and also it seems like there is a slight curve on the edge of the screen where the protector doesn't quite adhere perfectly.  I've done dozens of these in the past and haven't had this problem.  Is it just me?

The case doesn't quite fit on the edges.  it feels like it is a tad short and doesn't fully  embrace the phone. It stays on and protects the phone but it "squeaks" holding it by the edge and the cutouts don't align completely with the switch cutouts.  I tried warming a little with hot air but it didn't help.
