notification problems

On the FLX1s:  

1. When I get an email via Geary, or a message via Dino, the phone vibration is either exteremly weak, or doesn't even happen, I cannot tell.  How do I strenghten the vibration?  But I do see the notification when I swipe down from the top of the phone.  
2. Similarly with android apps like Signal, when a message arrives, either the phone does not vibrate, or the vibration is so feeble I can't detect it.  (Vibration is enabled in Notifications for these android apps.)  But I do see the notification when I swipe down from the top of the phone. 
3. For the android apps, in Notifications I enable the App Dot.  However, for some reason that never appears on the app's icon when there is a pending message.
