I am using Public Mobile in Canada and was having issues with the mobile data. The correct APN for it is "sp.mb.com" or "isp.mb.com" and that is what has been set in the Settings app. However, whenever I run "mmcli -m 0" in the console the apn is always "isp.telus.com". For some reason it will not change. Does anyone have any suggestions to see why this might be?
@graemejh dumb question but have you rebooted between changes? I've not tried that command (saved for future tests, thanks) but I have noticed that when I change the APN in settings and save, data 'stops and restarts' but I don't see behavioral changes without eating a reboot of the phone. Not sure if there's a systemd service we could restart that would have the same effect without the full time cost of a restart..
Thats a valid question haha Yes, I have restarted but sadly nothing changed. I THINK you can either use the button on the side of the phone to disconnect the modem and reconnect or else use the command "sudo systemctl restart ModemManager NetworkManager" but restarting the phone is probably more thorough.
