I need a decent scientific/engineering calculator app, ideally similar to HiPERCalc pro. Any recommendations? I am willing to pay a reasonable price to get a license to get around advertising.

I would recommend to look for Linux apps (before Android apps): https://linuxphoneapps.org/categories/calculator/
I rarely use GUI calculators (instead I use interpreters for my favorite programmling languages), but galculator works for me.
