Welcome to FuriLabs – we’re the company building a Linux phone that actually works. Our journey builds upon the incredible foundation laid by the FOSS community, whose tireless efforts have made projects like ours possible.
Our ultimate goal is to deliver a phone without compromises. A device that just works, letting you forget about the details and get on with your life. We believe life’s too short and too busy to have to think about anything more than what you really want. And we’re getting there! But here’s the thing: behind all the simplicity we strive to deliver lies a massive amount of complexity, thoughtful design, and yes, sometimes trade-offs.
At FuriLabs, we’re a team of tech enthusiasts and developers – there’s not a non-technical person in sight. This unique makeup gives us the freedom to dive deep into the nitty-gritty without fear of getting too “techy”. It’s this unhindered approach that allows us to tackle challenges head-on and come up with innovative solutions.
The effort that goes into everything we create often goes unnoticed by many – and in a way, that’s a good thing. It means we’re doing our job right. But we also believe these efforts shouldn’t fade into the background, because they do matter. Countless hours of hard work, numerous sacrifices, and a whole lot of ingenuity have brought us to where we are today.
These are stories worth telling, first and foremost because they’re human stories. While the world has plenty of businesses using well-scripted lingo to bring you to their conclusions, we are offering something different – a deep dive into the ins and outs of our work, the challenges we face, and the (often unhinged) solutions we come up with.
Our devBlog serves multiple purposes. Yes, it’s a place for us to let off some steam, but more importantly, it’s our way of demystifying what some might call technological wizardry. One of my core tenets in life has always been that if you really want to do something, you’ll find a way. So a part of me hopes that by writing these articles and putting them out into the world, we might just inspire future generations to do things they never thought they could. Because we once thought this was impossible too. But you just gotta try.
We’re incredibly proud of everything we’ve accomplished in such a short timeframe, and we’re really aching to rant and rave about it and get it out of our systems.
