Hello all! Where is the share folder between andromeda and FuriOS supposed to be? Should the default file manager be able to see files from both Linux and Android?
My goal: I am trying to find a way to share files between the Android container and the native Linux host. I guess this would include both A) from directory X in the Android container to directory Y in the native Linux, as well as B) sharing/access/upload/download from apps on both ends.
For example, if I want to transfer a file (photo, ringtone, PDF) from and Android app (like Signal or Nextcloud) for a wallpaper or a wakeup alarm, how can I do that? I see that in Settings>Android, there is a switch entitled "Share Folder" that claims "Enable shared folder between guest and host." This is switched on, but does nothing. Also, I have siwtched it on and off, and waited and rebooted etc. Yet I cannot find any share folder in Portfolio, in File Roller, in Index (from Software store), or anywhere else. Is there a different file manager to use? I also cannot get the flathub Nextcloud Files synchronization client (nor Nextcloud AppImage nor apk) to work on the Linux end (it installs but won't open), so I can't even do a workaround from Nextcloud_Android --> Nextcloud_Linux.
I have looked in placed like the following, but didn't really find a good solution:
That toggle in settings generates folder named Android to linux. And it generates folder named Host to Andromeda (android). What you will add there is visible in both Andromeda (android) and linux.
If you wan't to share more (like folders what all ready exists) your current option is to trust me. I am random person in the internet and I am not part of the furilabs team. How ever. My solution works (now, not sure what happens after some updates) and I use it daily drive it myself. https://gitlab.com/Alaraajavamma/tweak-flx1s
@alaraajavamma Thank you! I had seen the folder you showed me, but there was nothing in it (.... because, I guess, I hadn't put it there?). I guess I figured that things downloaded on one side would be immediately visible on the other side. Hence your "current option." 😀 I'll check out your solution a bit later. Thanks!
As far as the basic vanilla setup goes, am I right in thinking that....
1. There is not a way to pin the share folder to the Android Files side-bar
2. There is not a way to pin the Android Files app to the desktop app launcher screen
3. There is not a way to keep the Andromeda share folder permanently open? i.e. upon reboot, I have to activate it every time?
