If you are not an expert and would like to avoid trouble, I would recommend to wait with the upgrade to FuriOS 14.0.0. There have been reported some problems in the Matrix room. For example, I had to add a name server during the update process. In some days, a kind soul will post here safe steps to upgrade, I guess 🙂

@sve I updated via tty and apt package manger and it kept 17 packages back, including furios-base, furios-phosh packages and bunch of gnome packages. I wonder if it safe to force those updates?
Thanks. I made the mistake of setting up a fresh install with the "latest" furios (apparently it was still Debian 13 when I downloaded earlier today) and got stuck on letting it update during setup. Big mistake. It's fine now that I set it up without letting it connect to the network. I notice that the md5sum is now different when downloading.
If you get stuck with no internet access during an update, you need to edit /etc/resolv.conf to point to a valid nameserver. I used "nameserver 1.1.1.1" and was able to continue with the updates (first apt update, then apt upgrade, then apt upgrade again, and again, eventually it updates all it can then you do an apt dist-upgrade).
A force should not be necessary. Does DNS still work on your phone?
After the normal update is done, you need a
sudo apt dist-upgrade
this time because you go from Trixie to Forky.

@sve I did that. System does showing I have 14.0.0. And apt says there is 0 updates, but software app still showing system updates.

upgrade from trixie to forky is safe. if you face dns issues you should just reboot and continue updating. the upgrade is done step by step fed by our debian repositories.
