Is it possible to install Pinger TextFree on the FLX1s? I use Pinger as my VOIP on my usual Android phone. I do not find it in the Aurora store. I did find an APKM for it at apkpure, but is this installable on the FLX1s?
I was able to install Pinger TextFree by downloading it from APKPURE and installing using SAI. I opened the app, entered my account information, held my breath, and . . . got the following error message:
Receiving this error code means that your login or registration has been blocked because our system detected that the app was either:
Not installed from the official Apple Store or Google Play Store
Installed and running on a modified device (we do not allow Pinger to be used with "unlocked" devices or devices that can be customized)
To log in or complete your registration, please reinstall the app from the official app store on an unmodified device.
And so, I am close by no cigar. Has anyone run into similar situations with other apps? Is there any workaround, something along the lines of "locking" the FLX1s temporarily in order to complete the installation?
By way of background, I use Pinger TextFree so as to have a U.S. telephone number when I am traveling outside the U.S.. It is convenient for my older sisters who have never heard of things such as WhatsApp, Telegram, or Signal. My corollary question to the group is whether there are alternatives -- e.g., other VOIP providers -- that are compatible with the FLX1s and could be used with a simple UI such as gnome-caller? I'll appreciate learning from others!
As a follow-up that could apply to other apps, is it possible to use Magisk or similar "to fool" an app into thinking that the FLX1s is **not** rooted? I gather this means making modifications to the build.prop file?
