there is no gui setting, and xset and kbdrate are not available through apt. i'm getting an extremely fast repeat rate after changing my on-screen keyboard to the stock squeekboard so i can edit the layout because thebfurios layout is bad. and even with the furios defaut keyboad the repeat rate is bad. its super slow.
when i use hardware its too fast, and the onscreen keyboard is too slow. where can i edit the delay and rate?
I am not sure did I understand the question but there is no slider or toggle to say "work faster" or "work slower". The "stock" keyboard what comes preinstalled is called Stevia. There is one supported alternative which is Squeekboard. Squeekboard feels snappier and faster imo but it lacks some features (but it does also have some features what Stevia does not have)
I am not sure does this help because I did not fully understand the question.
@alaraajavamma the question is about keyboard repeat delay and rate. repeat delay is how long to wait before repeating a key. repeat rate is how many times per second should the character be printed after the delay time has been reached.
the repeat rate for the bluetooth key is too fast. if i hold backspace, after a moment it will start deleting text very rapidly: lines will disappear before i realize it.
i like a repeat deay of 250ms and a repeat rate of 25 characters per second, which makes things quick and controllable.
typical defaults are 400ms and 15char/sec, which i consider slow.
