i heard i can put terminal.yaml in ~/.local/share/squeekboard/keyboards/ but that doesnt work for me, and even if it did i still get forced into using stupid number keypads and email address layouts sometimes.

the terminal layout needs to be in ~/.local/share/squeekboard/keyboards/terminal/us.yaml not ~/.local/share/squeekboard/keyboards/terminal.yaml
You need to configure the same yaml file for every single purpose. That is what I am doing. See here:

Just remember that my configs are finnish so if you use different language you need to use that shortcode.

so you're saying there are only 6 secret names, which are:
email, emoji, number, pin, terminal, url
it is a good practice to answer a question in the answer text box, and only use links for additional reference, because links often go bad. but thank you!

@alaraajavamma how do you test all the types? is there a dev site built for this purpose that requests each type? i dont know how to trigger email, number, pin, and url. i should be able to find a site that triggers email, and one that triggers number, and one that triggers url. and i guess pin would be triggered by phosh if i used a pin pad, but that seems like a dangerous way to test it out.
