Android is only started if you request from a menu item. No Android apps are preinstalled. If you trust your Android apps and know that they run without Google services, I see no problem.
To add to what Sven stated, the android implementation allows some android apps that normally require you to be logged into a Google account to work without being logged into Google. Heck, just the fact you can install Aurora store and download apps only found on the Google Store without logging in is a major plus. But, there will be apps you want to use that are only available on android and absolutely require you to be logged into google (and some that require you to be on a super-certified device, mostly banking apps). Again, this android emulation is completely optional, you never have to use it.
In short, it can be as Google-free as you wish, but expect trade-offs.
