Greetings,
My phone reverts to fast.t-mobile.com for the APN in Mobile Settings. Which is not an issue, I've had other phones do the same without issue. (US Mobile, using t-mobile service in USA)
I'm having issues keeping data services working proper, in particular as I travel between cities, or if I power off/on phone.. In order to restore service I need to toggle to a different APN, the back to the fast.-tmobile.com APN. This usually works.
As I attempt various settings to resolve, I notice the APN entry in Modem Manager GUI is incorrect, it puts fast.t ...
Mint Mobile (T-mobile) working in USA, Northern Wisconsin rural area.
Hello all, just a quick hello, recently received phone, got all updates in place, a few must-haves loaded, and was happy to see when transferred my Mint Mobile SIM over, added in t-mobile settings:
name: Mint
APN: fast.t-mobile.com
Waited some moments and was able to place calls & receive/send SMS straight away.
So just an FYI for anyone looking in this area, I am in very rurual part of state, but coverage same as my last phone. Much to learn, a Linux newbie, but the Android covers ...
Unfortunately due to whitelisting AT&T and Verizon are unlikely to work unless Furilabs pays for their certification processes, regardless of compatibility with their network. Testing with my Verizon Ting sim shows that it does not connect to their network despite the hardware being able to connect to its bands. It does pull down their APN profile properly, so it's not misconfigured. t-mobile is the only carrier that does not whitelist devices, yet.
I REALLY want to buy one of these, but having it work on Verizon is an absolute need. t-mobile/AT&T service quality where I'm at is absolutely horrible (I have a 2nd TMO line that I keep solely to track TMO network improvement...there's absolutely no way I could rely on TMO).
I fully expect these to run like Chinese Android phones where Verizon won't officially support them or be able to activate a new SIM on it, which I'm ok with (I have an Oukitel and Ulefone on Verizon now, plus a Samsung that I keep just for SIM activation).
I see Verizon suppor ...
Since it lacks the banda for t-mobile, is there anything that can be done for those in the US?
Is the modem capable of more bands? Is there other carriers or MVNOs that would work other than t-mobile?
Hi Adam,
Great reading the positive results. On the t-mobile, bands are an issue. I will get back to you on this one.
Sound, its a know issue at the moment as is being actively worked on. It effects all of us.
Firefox. Uninstall "esr-firefox" and install "firefox". - It will fix your problems. Also run a software update.
Bluetooth keyboard. Please raise a github ticket for us. We will need more details.
This will be your daily driver in a matter of weeks not months. 🙂
My phone arrived a couple days ago. Here are some initial impressions / experiences...
No luck at all trying to get my USA t-mobile account working. I made all the settings like I did in my Librem 5 but they don't work. (APN: fast.t-mobile.com, tried every combination of 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G) I suspect there is more work to do here. I may check with support but feel its in the experimental stage and I may just have to wait for more development.
Next I wanted to try reading my Linux Magazine pdfs on the device. I found a setting to enable the ssh server but it d ...
