When disabling WWAN from quick settings, or from mobile network settings top right toggle the modem at times is lost and and modem as well as UI behavior is inconsistent or unreliable.
1. turn off mobile network -> observe phone switches to airplane mode -> also observe sometimes (probably when wifi is enabled) it goes to No WWAN Adapter Found screen
2. select turn off airplane mode button in mobile network settings -> observe nothing happens -> if the No WWAN Adapter Found screen shows the toggle works
3. repeat the same between quick setting and mobile network settings
4. additionally once the WWAN adapter is back up and running it lost its toggle preference settings for mobile data, data roaming and reverts to off -> should be restored to prior settings, whatever they were
Use requires both approaches to get the modem back up and running.
@fakeshell Doesn't work for me when using MVNO using Mint (T-Mobile) USA, while roaming in Canada on international plan. It detects and shows connected to EDGE 4G network, however mobile data is not possible and it doesn't show as registered. It does allow SMS and Calls, but requires reboot every time to work once. Also in that state turning off mobile connection from quick settings becomes frozen, does not turn off, when you do get it to turn off you cannot turn it back on in mobile settings, turning off airplane mode button does not do anything.
Germany: Congstar (prepaid, t-mobile based/owned MVNO)
Currently a manual 'nmcli c up "Congstar Internet" ' is needed every few days but a real fix is in preparation.
Foreground: `apt update` indicates I'm up-to-date on everything. I'm on t-mobile in the United States and I'm posting this just as an FYI as you prioritize what to work on.
When I first received the phone and before I updated the OS I could select cellular data speeds by groups (2g, 3g, 4g) or (2g, 3g, 4g, 5g). In the latest version I can't do that and the phone almost always connects via 5g but the signal is so weak (1%) that it's like having no connection at all. It'd be great if I could tell the phone to stick to 4g.
@plaidpelican actually when i set it to fast.t-mobile.com I was able to get data to work. With wholesale it only for some strange reason worked when it was in the process of connecting to my openVPN profile, but where connection never succeeded due to domain registration lookup error/or timeout
there is really no open "good" supl server and that is the reason we do not set it by default and it is left to the user to enable. some carriers have some but they are mostly just a frontend for supl.google.com. here is a list of supl servers i know of but keep in mind, there is no open source server out there. these are all run by big tech companies
supl.attmex.mx:7275
location2.kddi.ne.jp:7275
wpde.nate.com:7275
supl2019.lbs.sprint.com:7275
supl.geo.t-mobile.com:7275
and last but not least the most functional server owned by google
supl.google.com:7275
i do not know if anything other than the google one is functional so you may need to do some research there.
@plaidpelican I am using ASN: wholesale offficial setting but am not getting mobile data to work in the US SMS and Calls over VOLTE works. Does mobile data work for you - using Firefox on mobile?
this is likely a bug with our modem manager, if you want to change the apn a more reliable way is using ofono scripts:/usr/share/ofono/scripts/set-context-property 0 AccessPointName tobe.vodafone.rothe last value "tobe.vodafone.ro" is the apn you want to set.
@mgreenheck I still have not gotten MMS to fully work, on t-mobile in the US. I have successfully sent some MMS messages, but have not received inbound MMS messages successfully. Which version of Chatty did you downgrade to? It looks like mine is currently on version of Chatty 0.8.6-rc.
Greetings!
Feel like this may be easy one, but I cannot for life of me locate.
I have a new carrier setup, moved from Mint to US Mobile, still using t-mobile network. Phone calls work fine, but I need set MMSC per US Mobile support to match.
Have also downloaded Modem Manager, but cannot find any place to set the MMSC for data usage (such as in this case)
Can please point me right direction? Thanks folks!
AT&T and Verizon (including their MVNOs) only allow whitelisted devices onto their network which unfortunately the FLX1 is not. all users in the US are currently using it with t-mobile and their MVNOs such as Mint. this is a sad reality we have to live until we can pay US carriers to allow our device too. this is not a hardware issue.
I know Verizon explicitly whitelists which phones can connect to their network, and I have heard ATT does as well.
I would also verify the US bands the FLX1 has work with ATT. I know they work with t-mobile.
