Whats Coming in Early 2026?
In February we are releasing the hub. We are simply calling it the Convergence Hub (SKU: HUB1). We can confirm the specs now as it is in production.

Technically the Convergence Hub can output 2 x 4k external displays. We will not be supporting that at the beginning. At the beginning our External Display app that we are developing will support a single monitor @ 1080p. After the desktop/phone integration and usability are satisfactory then we can attempt other features.
The External Display app is being developed for 1 Hub and 1 Hub only, our Convergence Hub. We cant guarantee that the app will work with any other Hub or dock. The amount of work to make it universal is outside of our available time and money.

If it is displaylink, do we need to install the displaylink driver? The current one in the repo can’t be installed.

Will the app be included in the next os update or we can just install it from apt? lacking of DP Alt and no convergence so far is the on thing that I am still using the librem5. Cant wait to make the flx1s into the pocket pc. i hope the preorder starts soon.

There will be no DP Alt. We have made this very clear from the beginning. It will require our hub, our app and HDMI out from the hub but we are also very excited about it 🙂
