Just an observation : it does not appear possible to use the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band with the FLX1s. Furthermore, if a Wi-Fi network with a hidden SSID is used, manual setup does not work. In that case, no Wi-Fi networks are detected, whether on the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz bands. I have tested this on three Wi-Fi routers of different brands.”
@atnobug I have the same issue but I believe the issue is router-dependent. My older DSL modem/router shows the 5G network but my new ASUS WiFI7 router doesn't. I use the older modem/router for my guest network while the new one is for my more secure home network. I assume that the issue is related to the driver on the phone - at least that is the warning I got from the ASUS router when I set it up (that you need up-to-date WiFi drivers).
@atnobug I had this problem severely the first couple of days: it rarely connected to 5GHz, only 2.4GHz, and 2.4GHz is unusably noisy in my neighbourhood. I had this same effect on both of my routers, two different networks. But over the last few days it has consistently connected to 5GHz, and seems to be stable. I don't know if a software update changed something. Certainly the network hasn't changed. But even when it appeared to consistently connect only to 2.4GHz, it would occasionally connect to 5GHz for a brief period as well. So it's hard to prove the state of the system either way.
@matthewexon Thank you for your feedback. As Fakeshell pointed out, 5 GHz Wi-Fi is a software issue that we are aware of and are working to resolve, so some patience is required. I just hope that the issue with hidden SSIDs will be fixed at the same time.
I have just tried again a moment ago, and unfortunately, despite the latest updates, the 5 GHz band is still not working with my routers (Netgear and Zyxel) or with the access points at my workplace, whether the SSID is broadcast or hidden. The 2.4 GHz band works when the SSID is broadcast.
