Received my FLX1s last weekend and have been checking things out. Noticed something a little unusual with the Android stack and hoping to get some help with or clarity on.
When my phone is on wi-fi everything works fine, Linux or Android. Once I'm off Wi-Fi the Android apps no longer can access the internet. I can access the internet with any Linux apps that utilize it without issue.
I did install a network analyzer app on Android and DNS lookups seem to work, but the trace routes look unusual. Sometimes they show that they reach the destination, at other times they show that the request is terminated a random number of hops in the network for the LXC container (192.168.240.1 in my case). Any Android apps aside from that just time out on any internet connections.
What can I do to get to the bottom of this exactly?
@fakeshell this is exactly what happened to me too. if I only use mobile data, android app wont received data. From arch linux site it said port 67 and 53 need to enabled. but flx1s uses a different version of waydroid i assume?
In my case this was due to the plan I got for testing the phone. I use US Mobile and activated a "by the gig" plan. When I was troubleshooting remotely with FakeShell he asked if I have hotspot. According to their website, I should have. I moved my unlimited line to the phone earlier that definitely has hotspot included and the apps work now. It appears that they can pick up the traffic as looking like another device and assume hotspot usage off of that is my theory. Regardless, problem solved.
