I'm using a Vi sim and last few days I saw the internet speed was too slow. I suspect a problem with my ISP and used BSNL on Librem 5 for 2 days. Since the speed did not improve I suspected problem with FLX1 so tried swapping sims with an android phone (poco f5). Vi data was super fast in poco f5, so problem is confirmed to be with flx1.
But the Airtel sim won't connect to 5G (on poco it gets 5G) and even with 4G, it never succeeds to activate data connection (as evident from no network icon on phosh top bar keeps flashing - no amount of turning on/off data, mobile sim or the phone itself has any effect).
BSNL 4G worked fine on flx1 (swapped sim cards between Librem 5 and flx1).
I was going to post this experience here and noticed there is a new update available. So I updated krypton-modem-image update and happy to report vi data connection is good. Usually my xmpp apps fails to remain online long enough, it seems to be online for many minutes now.
But even with modem update, Airtel 5G and 4G data is broken. I could make a call from Airtel to Vi (it rang, did not test the call). It'd be good to fix Airtel 4G data at least, ideally 5G support as well.

is this still an issue? if so, does it improve if you disable 5G bands from settings?
