I have attempted latest January updates a few times now over some days, and receiving below errors. Firstly, I tried install thru the Store, but similar message 404 Not Found, I think more verbose thru the terminal, so I posted that. Had this error once before some time ago, but after waiting some time, it just sort of fixed itself and upgraded.
It seems like an obvious internet connection issue, but internet is well, and I actually got some app updates today that installed just fine.
Have I inadvertently set something wrong perhaps? (I attach full terminal session text)
Appreciate reply. I have a new SIM coming in soon, so decided to do a re-image and start fresh. The image was 13.0.5 so only needed one big update from there and it went perfectly. It could have been just me me changing or trying things that messed it up, been learning Linux as I go, and my goal is to run phone without any android apps required 🙂
Please keep up the great work, I see more & more interest in Linux mobile, I find this to be a fun adventure.
Hm, my initial enthusiasm a few days ago was premature. I still get the 404 error, if I try the command line it shows more than 1000 files for upgrade and several dozens for new installation. But the download is blocked due to a 404 error (similar to above). My kernel shows 4.19.235, the newest shown would be 4.19.325 (I beleive).
I am sorry, I don't have a telegram or matrix account. I would not mind a complete flashing, if needed (I have done it several times for the Librem 5). For that, I would just need a link with detailed instructions.
I tried a factory reset. Went smoothly but - wifi is no longer recognized (not available in task bar and not shown in preferences). Is there a way to check if the phone is accidnetally in airplane mode? What else to try?
@flx1stl I am glad that FLX1STL was able to flash the device. I hope things continue well. I am using this spot as I could not locate my prior query. I did contact through the general site, but I prefer not to be accused of spamming. I cannot manage to find a way to get MT6877 Mediatek to download through the site noted and this discussion is the closest as it addresses flashing and is related, of a fashion, even if a different file.
The only MT6877 I can find on the web to try to load is one for an Oppo phone, Reno 7 5G and obviously with a MTK Dimensity 900 chip, though whether it would satisfy my Furi FLX-1 or brick it is unclear to me. I do not have Matrix or other means such as Telegram, though I could be able to start an account specifically for this. I fail to understand why the 8-10 GB (if the firmware is that large) cannot be managed through a Server download or a link to that. I could readily download a 3-4 GB distribution with an accelerated download through a web site or even order an SD or USB device to give the update firmware for loading into my computer. I do not understand how a bad signature made it to the current device, but I know that it was not of my doing. Whether it was from MTK or from Furilabs is not important to me, but I would want to see a resolution to the business assisted and not to see that I cannot manage to get the flashing software of SF_Flash_DA.bin to work properly to get a workable file recognized as an acceptable scatter file for the use. I would appreciate if any party here can help me, if not Furilabs itself!
Yesterday I flashed the phone (it worked well with Fedora Linux) and - everything works well again including Wifi (I have not tried the SIM yet, though). The only thing that was different compared to the guide was, that I had to use "sudo apt update..." instead of "apt update..." despite having root access. The latter had lead to an endless loop.
