Hotspot sharing is the capability to share the internet of your phone data or another wifi connection to other devices via a wifi connection on the FLX1. Some sharing is disabled on other brands but there is no such restriction on the FLX1.
In-plane WiFi purchases cost roughly USD$20 per device per flight. Depending on the airline these connection’s are sometimes rate limited to 200MB or so. This can mean on a long haul you can spend quite a lot on in-plane WiFi just to stay connected to the world.
Flying return from Brisbane, Australia to the FLX1 launch in Brno, Czech Republic, several meetings in Germany and other FuriLabs business, my wife and I had to take a combined 18 flights and 12 WiFi purchases totalling $240.
Cost Savings
We have 1 laptop, 1 tablet and 1 phone on top of my FLX1.
Thanks to the FLX1 hotspot sharing we saved:
3×12 × $20 = USD $720. That is a HUGE saving.
Business / Family Benefits
A typical business would benefit in purchasing all their travelling employees a FLX1 which would pay for itself in savings very quickly.
Families would benefit for a single holiday per year.
Wifi Speed and Ease of connections
On top of this, the FLX1 sharing is super fast and conveniently has a QR connection code so there is no need to remember or share complicated passwords.
Life is expensive and stressful enough. The FLX1 saves and simplifies it for you.

The Linux mobile stack is fantastic. I am seriously considering picking up one of these.
