We're excited to introduce our new rotating wallpaper feature! A small but cool way to keep your desktop feeling fresh everytime you unlock it. If you've ever found yourself staring at the same background for weeks on end, this one's for you.
How It Works
The feature rotates to a new picture after each screen unlock event. That means every time you unlock your screen, whether you're stepping away for a coffee, hopping into a meeting, or wrapping up for the day, you'll be greeted by a brand-new image when you return. It's a subtle touch, but a fresh backdrop can make your whole workspace feel new again.
There's nothing else to configure: no schedules to set, no timers to manage. Lock, unlock, and enjoy.
Getting Started
Setting up rotating wallpapers takes under a minute:
- Open Settings → Appearance → Wallpaper.
- Select Source → Folder.
- Choose the folder you'd like to pull images from by clicking a image in that folder. This stores the folder selection for you.
- Select the image Fit you desire from the following options:
- Fill
- Fit
- Stretch
- Centered
- Tiled
- Spanned
That's it! From now on, every unlock delivers a new look.
Bring Your Own Collection
You're in complete control of what rotates. Simply select a folder containing the images you'd like to use - family photos, travel shots, digital artwork, or anything else you love - and the feature will cycle through them for you.
A few tips to get the best results:
- Go high-res. Use images that match or exceed your display resolution so wallpapers look crisp at any scale.
- Mix it up. A blend of photos, illustrations, and abstract art keeps things interesting.
- Keep the folder tidy. The rotation draws from whatever's in the folder, so a curated collection works best.
- Supported format extensions: .jpg .jpeg .png .webp .jql .bmp .svg (upper or lowercase).
Point it at your favorite picture collection and let your personal gallery shine.
Rotating wallpapers is rolling out in 14.1.0, so give it a try and let us know what you think.
